Are you experiencing pain in your neck, shoulders, hips, or back??

Neck pain can be reduced by simply changing your pillow that best suites your body and sleeping position.  If you are experiencing pain in your shoulders, hips, and back, it is time for a new mattress.

Shopping for Pillows...

  • Low profile (low fill) pillows: best for back, stomach or petite side sleepers
  • Medium profile (medium fill) pillows: best for side sleepers, good all around pillow
  • High profile (full fill) pillows: best for side sleepers with wide shoulders

The goal of shopping for a good pillow is to find which pillow aligns your body the best.  You do not want to be sleeping with your neck tilted sideways.  You want your neck to be as straight as possible which keeps your entire spine aligned.  This is ideal for your posture and alleviating pain.

Shopping for Mattresses...

If you have been waking up with a stiff upper or lower back, tight shoulders, or aching hips, consider buying a new mattress that will aleviate these pains.  Although our mattresses are a bit more expensive than mattresses you find at a typical mattress store, according to Cynthia Card, a leading physical therapist in the Houston area, our mattresses last more than fifteen years compared to most mattresses that are only good for eight to ten years.

Mattresses are a personal preference, however. your mattress should provide firm support whether you sleep on your back, side and stomach.  If you live in the Houston area, come into our store and try out our wide range of mattresses on our showroom floor.

Sleep Postures..

Sleeping On Back:

  • Tuck pillow around sides of neck so your neck does not rotate left or right
  • Use small pillow under knees
  • Keep arms at sides
  • Do not sleep with arms overhead as it may restrict blood flow to the arms and hands

Sleeping on Side:

  • Make sure pillwo is thick enough so neck does not side bend
  • Use a pillow between your knees
  • Hug a pillow tosupport shoulder and to keep arms below the shoulders
  • If shoulder is painful, lie with painful side up and try a small towel roll in arm pit

Sleeping on Stomach:

  • Sleeping on your stomach is fine; however, most people fint it puts too much rotation pressure on the neck
  • Put pillow under the shoulder of the side that your neck is rotating as this will take some othe pressure off your neck
  • Try to avoid the "stork" position (one hip flexed up to the chest).  This rotates the spine -- try a pillow under the flexed knee to keep you from bringing knee too far up to chest
